Julie Lounds Taylor is an assistant professor of Pediatrics and Special Education at Vanderbilt University, and a Vanderbilt Kennedy Center Investigator.  Her research program examines how individual, family, and societal characteristics interact to promote healthy development, particularly when one family member has an intellectual or developmental disability. Her current research focuses on how youth with autism spectrum disorders and their families experience the transition to adulthood, as well as the malleable factors associated with positive adult outcomes.  Dr. Taylor received her PhD in Developmental Psychology from the University of Notre Dame, and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the Lifespan Family Research Laboratory, Waisman Center, University of Wisconsin-Madison.
