Education: Tom earned his Master’s Degree from Wright State University in Rehabilitation Counseling-Severe Disabilities with a Graduate Certificate in Job Placement and Development and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Resource Management from The Ohio State University.  He has an extensive background in working with people with disabilities.  

Experience: Tom’s professional experience includes Vocational Training Coordinator with the Goodwill Rehabilitation Center in Columbus, OH in the early 1990’s.  Since his Goodwill experience, he has continued working in the field providing vocational rehabilitation case management, job analysis, ergonomic assessments and vocational guidance.  Tom was part owner of a vocational rehabilitation case management company providing vocational rehabilitation services to consumers across the state of Ohio.  Tom also worked at The Ohio State University as a Disability Program Manager and served on the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) Advisory Board and the Post-Secondary Options for Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Advisory Board at the Nisonger Center at OSU.  He also served as Business and Vocational Rehabilitation Liaison to the OSU Medical Center Project Search and Transition Options for Post-Secondary programs through the Nisonger Center.  He is currently the National Co-Chair of the Autism Speaks -Autism Treatment Network’s Family Advisory Committee.  He serves on the Goodwill Columbus Board of Directors.  He is also a panel review member for the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research and the Administration on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities grant review boards.

He is currently working at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital for the University of Cincinnati University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities as Coordinator, Evaluation and Dissemination.

Family and Community: Tom has wealth of business development, management, counseling and leadership experience.  Most importantly Tom is the parent of an active, funny, free-spirited child with Autism and his witty and charming older sister.  He and his wife are very active in autism projects and programs in the central Ohio area.
